This Hawk Axe was designed by Shane Sloan and is part of the Delta V series. It is crafted from 440 stainless steel and features a contoured grip, nylon sheath and a unique hawk-like design. 13" overall.
History
Thrown weapons have been used for thousands of years. They started out as simple stones and as time went on, they evolved into spear points and axe heads. With the advent of steel, these weapons became much more advanced and lethal. The throwing axe was soon realized as both a useful tool and weapon. It started to be widely used during the Dark Age and was later used with deadly accuracy and ferocity by the Vikings. Throwing axes were used primarily as close range missile weapon and were much easier to throw than a knife or spear since the axe's heavy blade did most all the work.
