September 13, 1842 in Hastings New York: Christopher Lilly v. Thomas McCoy. After fighting for two hours and forty one minutes,
McCoy collapsed and died in the 77th round. The coroner stated that fluid had leaked into McCoy's lungs and that he had drowned.
